Saudi Arabia on high alert after warning of Iranian attack

The Saudi intelligence report states that the purpose of these attacks is to divert the world's attention from the ongoing protests in Iran.

According to a report in the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), Saudi Arabia has shared intelligence with US officials, warning of an attack by Iran on targets in the kingdom and in Erbil, Iraq. The planned attacks are aimed at diverting attention from the protests that have taken place in Iran in recent weeks. The protests began after the death of Mehsa Amini in police custody for allegedly not wearing a hijab. Since then, thousands of women have taken to the streets without covering their heads or faces, challenging the Iranian government.
The WSJ spoke to a White House National Security Council official who said the US is "concerned about the threat image" and that "officials are in constant contact with the Saudis".

Costs and benefit of alliances

Pakistan has been involved in various alliances throughout its history, and the costs and benefits associated with these alliances have varied. Here are some examples: 1. United States Alliance: Costs: - The alliance with the United States has sometimes resulted in criticism and strained relations with other countries, particularly those with whom Pakistan has had historical tensions, such as India. - Pakistan has faced allegations of compromising its sovereignty and being dependent on U.S. aid and assistance, which some argue has limited its strategic options and decision-making. Benefits: - The United States has provided significant military and economic aid to Pakistan over the years, particularly during periods of close cooperation such as the Cold War and the War on Terror. - The alliance has enhanced Pakistan's defense capabilities through military equipment, training, and technology transfers. - Diplomatic support from the United States has helped Pakistan navigate intern...
